Lowtemp Music

Lowtemp. Freeing Music by Making Music Free.

Gramatik

I'm a part-time musician and a full-time comedian so never take my music seriously, it's just one of my many elaborate jokes.

Gramatik

Currently residing in NYC, the Slovenian producer has been lighting up stages and creating a distinct relationship with fans worldwide since his debut performance in 2009. In an era when most musicians and the industry at large were scrambling to maintain a grasp of their old streams of revenue, Gramatik was jumping head first into what he believed would be the future – file sharing. “Freeing music by making music free” has become one of the calling cards of Gramatik’s career. In 2010, after releasing five records at a furious pace, Gramatik began posting links to torrents containing his full discography. Fans responded by sharing files and coming to shows by the tens of thousand.

Gibbz

Gluttonous jerk with a lust for attention

Gibbz

GiBBZ is a Singer/Producer/Alter ego of Mike Gibney. After receiving a “degree” from The Berklee School of Music, Mike Gibney began working full time in and out of the studio for such artists as Soulive, Lettuce, Talib Kweli, Pharaoh Monch, Consequence, and others. After 4 years of working in a professional music environment as an engineer, he realized being an engineer is a thankless, miserable existence. Soon after, he met members of what is now the Lowtemp label, including Gramatik and Exmag. They convinced him that it’s OK to drink copious amounts of alcohol and make everyone within a 30 ft radius uncomfortable. Out of this drunken, obnoxious, perverted, glutinous, offensive mess of a man, GiBBZ was born.

Luxas

Creating musical landscapes one note at a time

Luxas

A native of the beautiful Adriatic coastline, Slovenian producer Lukas Stepancic has been involved with music practically his entire life. Throughout his career he’s done pretty much everything that has anything to do with it – from ghost producing, working with the best sound engineer(s) in the country, managing tours for world famous techno DJ’s and doing studio work for various artists all over the country, to regularly recording his own compositions. For a while he also worked in the region’s most famous night club, thus closely familiarizing himself with the club scene.
Even though he kept himself busy, he always found time to create his own music. Starting off as a DJ and ‘sound guy’, he began his recording career around the year 2002 with a unique brand of progressive house and published his music on various labels using different artist names. Later when his musical knowledge grew deeper he started to explore other genres and slowly but surely discovered his signature sound, which could be described as dark, epic and extremely cinematic. By using vintage analog synthesizers from his vast personal collection and combining them with intricate field recordings and digital trickery, he creates unique musical pieces that are almost impossible to pin down in terms of genres.
Since he became known for creating mesmerizing, otherworldly sonic landscapes he inevitably found himself working in theater, while also creating music for films and commercials. After some time doing that he felt it was time for a change. He packed his bags and went to live with a friend in London, where he was supposed to work with him on an album. Instead, he found inspiration to again start working on his own music. Feelings of being lost, creatively emptied or however you want to call it, were quickly forgotten as he started building The Bridge, brick by brick and note for note.

Benjamin Shock

Skinny looking guy with FAT soul

Benjamin Shock

If asked about his musical roots, Benjamin Shock would tell you he’s been heavily influenced by the mid 90’s house and techno music, but he actually fell in love with electronic music even before those days. He was growing up in an area where clubbing scene was on a major rise, which had an enormous impact on his career. In 1998 he started hanging at a local radio station where he was introduced to tons of different music. This helped him to evolve as a musician and equally important – improve his production skills.
Later he discovered a talent and a real passion for playing records – he became a DJ and hosted weekly techno and house radio shows. It also didn’t take him long to start composing his own tunes. Soon his first track ”Get Down” was released on a German house imprint Discogalaxy, which in turn led to a string of releases on various other labels. Since then many of his productions can be regularly seen in the Top 100 charts on Beatport, Juno, Traxsource etc.
His style is generally described as a variation of deep, jackin’ and funky tech-house mixed with some French house beats on top. And whenever he steps behind the turntables things get even looser. In the future he sees himself continuing to be absolutely dedicated to his music and spoiling his ever-growing fanbase with new and exciting projects.

Emiljo A.C.

Words like young and ambitious probably best describe Emiljo A.C., who has been steadily putting up a bunch of smartly crafted, quality beats on Soundcloud. Beats he made between the ages 12 and 16. Yup, let that one sink in…
Lowtemp’s head honcho was quick to recognize the potential and signed the 16-year old to his label, pronto. For Emiljo, hip hop is the name of the game. It’s what he grew up on and loves the most, but he is ever more adventurous in exploring where he could take it. His first release on Lowtemp is a combination of all the things he’s picked up so far. Still crafty in his sample selection, he’s toned it down a bit and added live instrumentation to a very enjoyable effect.
Now he’s on a mission to take his show on the road, play in as many parts of the world as he possibly can and, oh yeah, make some more banging music along the way.

Dreamers Delight’s official remix of Odesza’s “Bloom” (In Return, 2014) is one that has gained incredible attention and shows Krafft’s mastery – tying in elements from hip-hop rhythms to soulful, sample-heavy electronics, Krafft’s production on this remix demonstrates his versatility and proficiency for such an early stage in his musical career. “Dreamers Delight… weaves a middle road between reality and a transcendental

Anomalie

Futuristic jazz fusion, funky grooves and stellar keyboard performances

Anomalie

Nicolas Dupuis is a classically trained and highly versatile keyboardist based in the beautiful city of Montreal. He’s got more than 16 years of experience studying classical and jazz piano performance, which led him to become the first person to be awarded the Yannick
Nézet-Séguin excellence grant in 2012. Under the moniker Anomalie he began making music infused with a combination of classical music, jazz, hip hop, funk, fusion and various electronic elements – sounds hectic but Nicolas pulls it off seamlessly as evidenced on his debut self-titled EP from 2013. He also kept himself busy with a YouTube series called “Weekly Jams”, in which he collaborated with 19 different artists. Not surprisingly, the videos made quite an impression with their orchestral elements, sound effects, synthesized instruments and amazing keyboard performances.
Making his debut on Lowtemp recently with the single “Odyssee”, Nicolas is also working on his second EP and has a number of side projects going on with various artists. Safe to say he is just getting started.

Teo Collori & Momento Cigano

Original compositions inspired by gypsy swing. Music without drums - perfect for sampling.

Teo Collori & Momento Cigano

Born and raised in Slovenia, Teo Collori’s musical virtuosity and infectious energy were uncontainable once he finished studying jazz guitar in the neighboring Klagenfurt, Austria. He used to prefer jazz music, but whe he saw Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, Collori felt in love with gypsy-swing; it was then when he began to study the intricate style. Not long after he formed his own acoustic gypsy-swing band Momento Cigano and in March of 2015 the band recorded Hot Club Piran.
Teo wrote all the compositions himself but the album wouldn’t sound like it does without the help of his band, consisting of Matija Krečič (violin), Lenart Krečič (soprano saxophone), Jan Gregorka (bass), and Mauro Freschi (second guitar). The interplays between each instrument are balanced perfectly, and the band does a marvelous job at keeping up with Teo’s swinging guitar.
